With the month of July fast approaching, I thought it might be a good idea to talk about my July reading plans. July is a very interesting month for me as I will be; taking part in a month-long reading, Bookending Summer and will be going to Dortmund, Germany for a few days at the beginning of the month. I am excited to see what this month brings. Especially when it comes to how I am going to be balancing reading, blogging, a holiday AND work within this next month. I’m sure it will go okay…maybe.
Blogging Plans:
Bookending Summer:
Yes, that is right, I am planning on doing some prompts for Bookending Summer and I am a host for 4 days! If you don’t know what Bookending Events have then let me tell me. Bookending Events is a bookish event that happens 4 times a year. There is Bookending Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. This idea was created by Clo @ Book Dragons and Sam @ Fictionally Sam. This event is where bloggers come up with prompts for people to do. If you would like to find out more, please check out the announcement post on Clo’s blog.
Next month, Bookending Summer is starting and I can honestly say all of the prompts that have been created are amazing. I am so happy to be a part of this event again. I loved taking part in the Bookending Winter event and I can’t wait to take part in this event.

General Posts:
Apart from taking part in the Bookending Summer prompts, I am planning on publishing a few discussion posts and reviews that have been in the works for honestly months. I have no idea why writing reviews is so hard for me, but I have got a lot of review notes of books I’ve read within the last few months and I am excited to publish them.
Here are some of the posts that will be coming out shortly:
- How Pinterest Can Be Used for Your Blog
- Why I Cleared My Want-to-Read Shelf on Goodreads
- The Copper Promise by Jen Williams Book Review
- The A-Z Book Tag
- Book Addiction Book Tag
Reading Plans:
Medieval-a-Thon:
So for this the month of July I will be taking part in the Medieval-a-Thon which is hosted by Holly Hearts Books. I came across this readathon randomly on Twitter and honestly, I am so excited for this. The challenges for this is honestly amazing and the one thing I love about it is the Nobility Ranks Holly has created. I know I will be aiming for the King/Queen!
Here are some of the books I am planning on reading for this readathon:
- The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
- Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb
- Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames
- American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Only 6 days left and I can’t wait!!
The Second Star Society:
Aside from taking part in the Medieval-a-Thon readathon, I will be reading my book choice of the month for the book club I am running with Heather @ The Frozen Library. So far, I have been doing okay with trying to keep up with the prompts we have for each month and the fact that I’m doing the Medieval-a-Thon, I know most of my time next month will be reading the books I have chosen for that. So hopefully I will be able to fit in my book choice for July.
The July prompt for The Second Star Society is to read a hyped up book within the Urban Fantasy genre. At the moment, I have no clue what book I will be choosing to read. But I’m sure I will be able to think of something as the time comes closer!
Side Note:
So I have thought about doing these sort of posts for the past few weeks now. I am no longer going to be TBR posts anymore. Even though in the beginning I thought about doing a quarterly books-catching-my-eye segment, but I thought that might work better as a page instead of a group of posts. So in the placement of my TBR posts, I will be doing the Reading and Blogging Plans of the month type posts.
In these posts I will be posting some goals I am hoping to do and gives you an insight on what I am reading that month and what are some of the blog posts I am currently working on and will be going live for you guys to read within the next few weeks.
I am planning on doing a review post that will cover a review of everything that I said in these sort of posts so I’m excited to see what those will be looking like!
So those are my reading and blogging plans for July. I am excited for this month to start. I know with everything that will be happening in this month, I will either won’t have time to read or won’t have time to finish blog posts. Hopefully, I won’t have any trouble and will be able to do both for the whole month! What are your plans for next month?
till then readers

I love your Bookending Summer logo! It’s so cute! I’m planning on doing some of the prompts for it this time despite doing Camp Nano again since I missed out on Bookending Spring. 😛
Why I Cleared My Want to Read Shelf and the tags sound like interesting posts! I can’t wait to read them! <3
And yay for our book club! I feel like it's dying, but I'm not giving up on it. XD
I like this kind of post! If it's less stressful on you, then all the better. 🙂

I love this idea of sharing your reading/blogging plans for the month. Have you found it to hold you accountable to your TBR/Read-a-thons?

Wow that is a lot going on! Hopefully you live in the European area so that trip to Germany isn’t too much of a hindrance! Although you should also make sure you have fun!
I look forward to seeing how you go 😊

AMY I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!!!! I completely and irrevocably suck at sticking to a TBR (reason #1 I don’t post them) so this kind of post is a gem! AND CAN I SAY I AM SO STINKING EXCITED THAT YOU WILL BE HOSTING FOR BOOKENDING EVENTS?! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Can’t wait for your July posts as they sound epic!
