Today I am here with another book tag! After seeing the A-Z book tag on Sam’s blog, Fictionally Sam, I knew I had to do this book tag. It looks like such a fun one. Hopefully, you enjoy this book tag as much as I do! This is a long book tag, with 26 questions, so let’s get stuck into this one!
a | author you’ve read the most books from:
I think this has to be a mix of Sarah J. Maas and Brandon Sanderson. I owe pretty much all of their books and I’m slowly making my way through them.
b | best sequel ever:
I would have to say The Bitter Twins by Jen Williams. Even though The Ninth Rain was amazing, The Bitter Twins took this series to the next level. It was that good!
c | currently reading:
I am currently reading:
- The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter (51% through it)
d | drink of choice while reading:
I think anything fruity I love to drink while I read. This could be a fruity fizzy drink, like Fanta Fruit Twist, or even a peach ice tea. Idk why I need things fruity to drink while I read aha.
e | e-reader or physical book:
Both! I love reading in both formats. Even though I love the feel of holding a book while reading, I still love reading an ebook between sometimes.
f | fictional character you would’ve dated in high school:
Tbh I have no clue. There are a lot of guys within books I could see myself not dating in a way? If so then most of the guys in YA books…well apart from Seth from Wicked Lovely by Marissa Marr. Idk why but he seemed like the best one you know?
g | glad you gave this book a chance:
For this, I would have to say The Wicked King by Holly Black. Even though I disliked The Cruel Prince, I gave The Wicked King a chance just to see how the series went. And I am so happy I did. This book was definitely so much better than The Cruel Prince and I am happy I didn’t drop this series just because of the first book. Now I’m ‘patiently’ waiting for the next book!
h | hidden gem book:
My hidden gem was The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. I just happened to come upon it while I was browsing the shelf of Waterstones, and I don’t lie when I say I only bought the book ’cause of the cover. But yea I loved this book. It was definitely something different and the fantasy aspect to this book was awesome.
i | important moment in your reading life:
I think the most important moment in my reading life was when I finished a book over 1,000 pages within a week. Like…that is very impressive if I say so myself.
j | just finished:
I just finished Jade City by Fonda Lee. I loved this book…I really need the next one. Thankfully it’s coming out in July!
k | kind of books you won’t read:
Anything to do with contemporary or purely romance books. Don’t get me wrong I love a good romance here and there but sometimes when a book that purely follows the love aspect in it can be a bit too much for me.
l | longest book you’ve read:
The Longest book I read was Voyager (Outlander #3) by Diana Gabaldon with 1,059 pages! I don’t know why but I really want to read a book that is longer than that. If you know a book that might be something I like and can push me to finish that challenge then tell me!
m | major book hangover because of:
- The Falconer by Elizabeth May
- The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson
- Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff
- Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman
- An Echo of Things to Come by James Islington
- The Ruin of Kings by Jenn Lyons
Be warned guys…all of these books are killers.
n | number of bookcases you own:
Okay, so the thing is the number of bookcases I have is 1. But I do have 2 shelves on the wall (1 is seen on my Instagram constantly) that is my ‘main’ one. So I guess 3? If the ones of the walls count.
o | one book you’ve read multiple times:
Die for Me by Amy Plum. I have lost count the number of times I have read this book. It stills amazes me sometimes…like some things in this book just should not happen.
p | preferred place to read:
I prefer to read when I’m on any transport. Even though reading at home is also a nice place to read, I never really feel like I am within a story until I am on transport going somewhere. Maybe its because I have my headphones in during the journey I have no clue. But it is nice. Even though there is always crying babies somewhere that can distract me even with headphones aha.
q | quote that inspires you/gave you all the feels from a book:
I have no clue but all of the quotes I like from books have something to do with knowledge and power. I don’t really get the feels of a book when this happens but its something. My most recent favourite quote is from The Copper Promise by Jen Williams and it is; “One day, child, you will learn that the written word is powerful precisely because anyone can use it”.
r | reading regret:
The reading regret that I have is that I haven’t read all of the books I have. Like I know I read a few then buy more, read the books I’ve bought then bought some more new ones.
s | series you’ve started and need to finish (all books are out):
The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. I have read every book up until The Raven King. Literally, have no clue why I haven’t finished this book. I remember I got to the halfway point and stopped. Like why? Tbh, I have no clue. Hopefully, I can finish this series before the spin-off series following Ronan comes out? Let’s see…
t | three of your all-time favourite books:
3? Dammit, okay here I go:
- The Host by Stephanie Meyer
- Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
- The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
u | unapologetic fangirl for:
OUTLANDER! I am not sorry for being a huge fan of this book/ TV show. It is just so good and I love everything about it. I am not sorry for it all haha.
v | very excited for this release:
DARKDAWN BY JAY KRISTOFF…I need this badly. Is it September yet?
w | worst bookish habits:
I always buy a series without finishing the first book. Like I always questioning to myself why I do this but honestly, I have no clue. Recently though I worked on this but I still end up doing up. Will I learn and overcome this habit? I don’t think so.
x | x marks the spot! start at the top left of your bookshelf and pick the 27th book:
Okay for this I chose the bookcase that is my main one (the one in my Instagram photos) and the 27th book is…
Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman!
y | your latest book purchase:
The latest book purchase was Jade City by Fonda Lee and The Silver Tide by Jen Williams.
z | zzz-snatcher book—last book that kept you up way too late:
The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. I think this book kept me up until 4 in the morning? One reason why was because I just couldn’t sleep and the second reason why just ’cause of that book. Honestly, this book as just ugh so good.
Thank you, Sam, for sharing for your blog post for this tag. This was a really fun one to do! If you would like a fun book tag then I would recommend you guys to try this tag out. So yourself as tagged!
till next time readers
