After my popular Q&A post, I did with George @ Buried in Books last month, another books blogger contacted me asking about doing a Q&A with her. So here it is! Today I will be doing a Q&A with Heather, owner of The Frozen Book Blog. I love the backstory of why her blog is called that. I love it how she brought her love for Disney and Frozen into her bookish idea. So anyway let’s start this Q&A!!
Tell us a bit about yourself?
H: Hi, my name is Heather, I just turned 20 last month, and I am an extremely introverted only child book nerd born and raised in Alaska. 🙂
How did you get into book blogging?
H: A few years ago a friend showed me a bunch of BookTubers, and I really admired them and the idea of this whole online book-loving community. I really wanted to be a part of something like that, but the only problem is I am way too awkward and soft-spoken to do anything on camera, and I would rather remain somewhat anonymous, so book blogging sounded like the most natural choice, so a couple of years later, here I am. 😛
Have you been inspired to blog by another blogger and/or Youtuber?
H: Definitely. My favorite BookTubers are Hailey in Bookland and ReadbyZoe, and my favorite blogger is definitely Cait @ Paper Fury. They are all so awesome, funny and down to earth, and I am so inspired by all of them and my own love of books and storytelling that I had to make a blog of my own. 🙂
How do you decide what blog posts to do next?
H: I don’t know, I am a part of some link ups, like That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday, which is every week, and I only post on Tuesdays and Saturdays, so most Tuesdays I participate in that. On Saturdays, I will usually do book reviews or tags I found on the internet or anything I feel like, really. I have a Word document with a loooong list of blogging post ideas that I came up with or have been inspired by something on the internet I found somewhere and if I’m really stuck on ideas to post next, I will pick something from that list.
Do you look at other blogs to get inspiration for the content of your blog?
H: I’m definitely inspired by all the BookTubers and book bloggers I follow. I wouldn’t be a blogger without them, though I am trying my best to be as original as I can. I give them all the credit if I get an idea from them. I don’t want to steal anything.
Where would you like to see your blog at the end of this year?
H: I have no idea. I had a rough year last year just with life in general, and it’s taught me that things don’t always go as planned, so I really can’t see that far ahead. It would be really nice if I had some more followers and some more resources to come up with better-quality posts that I really want to do, but until then I will just do my best with what I have. I have gotten a sudden boost in followers recently, though. So that was a nice surprise. I must have done something good. 😛
If you could meet one author who would it be?
H: Ugh, I don’t know! Until I started blogging, I always paid more attention to the actual work rather than the person who created them, and honestly, I would be too shy to talk to anyone if I actually did meet them. 😛 Plus I live in Alaska, and like, almost NOBODY comes up here, and it’s too expensive to travel anywhere they would be, anyway. :/
What are your 3 top genres to read?
H: I’m not sure. I feel like I read a lot of contemporary, I still read dystopian, and I like historical fiction, (mostly if it’s set around WWII) and I like fantasy, but I feel like I haven’t gotten to read enough of historical fiction or fantasy to actually judge them very accurately?
What book are you most excited about reading next?
H: I’m excited about reading Geekerella by Ashley Poston. I started a book club on my blog where we read a different retelling each month, and in March we are doing Cinderella! 🙂 I don’t usually get around to reading the more hyped books until like, literally YEARS later, so I’m excited I decided to read this one actually within a year of its publication date. XD.
Would you like to say something?
H: Uh…Hi! And thanks for reading! And…bye! I guess. XD
That is the end of my Q&A with Heather from The Frozen Book Blog. Thank you to Heather for participating in this Q&A. It was very fun to do. Here is my Q&A over on Heather’s blog, I loved being apart of it! Also, check out Heather’s blog, she is a lovely person and her blog is so good.
