“Count to three. Relax your mind. Now survive.” – Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings
I am disappointed. I was expecting more…
I really liked the idea and the concept of this book. The world that was created was interesting and it was dystopian to the core. However, the pace of the story and the characters did no good for the book.
Every single action and event occurred in the book happened so fast. Yes, I like fast-paced books but this one was REALLY FAST. Characters were one-dimensional as well. I didn’t connect with any of them and after one certain point, I didn’t really care to do it.
The main 2 things that bug me is Meadow‘s mother’s issue and the ‘love interest’. I honestly don’t think that any mother would do that such thing to their daughter/son. The thing that she did to Meadow… That’s a sort of thing that you’d MAYBE do to your biggest enemy. It’s really unrealistic because no mother and women would talk about/do things Meadow‘s mother did.
Also, this book gave new meaning to the term insta-love. Like seriously they were in love with each other before they even met. *sarcasm* So these both things are a big problem for me.
Will, I still read the second book? I think so. I want to give another chance to the author and this series, and it seems like the second book is better *fingers crossed*.
