I can’t believe how this month went. Literally, I had a little reading slump that’s due to a certain book, I read things within 2/3 days and read so so many different stories within different worlds. I loved this month. Yea I can honestly say this month was just amazing!!
So let me show you the books I read in June!
June: 10 books
- Scythe by Neal Shusterman – Rating 5 out of 5 Stars
- Yea this book was as amazing as everyone was banging on about. I was so scared to go into this book and I think that’s what put me off from reading it in the beginning. But honestly, I wish I read this book waaaaayyyy earlier than I did. It’s completely different from what I thought I would be. It’s filled with so many twists and the plot was just UGH amazing! And that’s how you start off a series!
- Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman – Rating 5 out of 5 Stars
- Yea this book killed me. I loved it how Thunderhead was a year or so after the events of Scythe. But honestly, the last 50 pages just killed me. WHY DO AUTHORS DO THIS?! Thunderhead was a brilliant sequel to Scythe, and now I just have to wait, and wait, and wait for the third book in this series. We see a lot more of the Scythe world and how they really exist. We also see what the Thunderhead is and how it become so big and powerful. It was interesting enough to see its way of thinking about current events and any events that involve the Scythes.
- The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang – Rating 5 out of 5 Stars
- Oh my God, what a book. I literally can’t believe it took me SOO long to read this book. Even though I bought this in May I still think it took me so long to read, literally. I can honestly say this book takes my Number 1 book of the year.
- I adored this book. From the characters to the plot to the action to the history. I can definitely tell this book was highly influenced by Asian history. I loved how the author twisted it in a fantasy way, it really made this book feel unique.
- Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes – Rating 5 out of 5 Stars
- Reread
- Rebel Spring by Morgan Rhodes- Rating 5 out of 5 Stars
- This was a really strong sequel, especially when it’s following a meh ending from Falling Kingdoms. The way all of the characters are going in this book is leading to an interesting storyline.
- Gathering Darkness by Morgan Rhodes – Rating 4 out of 5 Stars
- I have no idea why, but even though this book was good, I just don’t think it’s comparing to Rebel Spring. It was interesting to see how everything goes, especially by introducing more characters from the nearby country. But there’s just something about this book that just didn’t sit right with me.
- Frozen Tides by Morgan Rhodes – Rating 4.75 out of 5 Stars
- I really hate Lucia. Like I know she kinda redeemed herself at the end but honestly, my hope for her in the next few books has just gone. I love the way this series is going. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen how the series will end, especially when it comes to Lucia. There are some things that make me feel ‘eh’ about but overall it’s still really good.
- Crystal Storm by Morgan Rhodes – Rating 5 out of 5 stars
- So that happened. I really enjoyed this book! It was filled with so much action and twists that just made me devour this book. The only thing that I don’t understand is why the characters in this book are switching their alliances so much. I’m excited to see how the final book concludes everything! Also, I’m totally loving Magnus and Cleo, they are so adorable together and I just need to make sure they are okay IN THE END!
- Fire Falling by Elise Kova – Rating 5 out of 5 Stars
- This was a brilliant sequel to Air Awakens. I loved it! I love the elemental side of the characters and the events within this book just made me head over heels or just heartbroken. I kind of wish the whole “he might not like me” thing wasn’t so constant throughout the book. But I think it honestly made me so happy once they officially came together. Obviously, the end of the book just ended with NO EXPLANATION. I’m so happy I have the rest of the series so I don’t have to wait to find out how the rest of the series continues!
So that’s all of the books I read in June Have you read any of these? Comment down below and let me know what you thought of it. What books did you read in May and what was your favourite one out of your list?
