Well, when I say trailer, I mean teaser trailer. But that’s close enough right? Can I just say I’m finding it so hard to type this out because my excitement for this has blown up my connections to my fingers? Like ARGH!!
You guys must be wondering what this is about? This is about the teaser trailer that was released Easter weekend (the weekend that just went) for the next season of OUTLANDER! Finally more JAMIE! OLDER JAMIE!!!! If you haven’t realised yet, by not seeing my Pinterest board for Outlander (link here), you have no idea how much I love this TV show and books.
Link for the trailer here.
I have been following this TV show since 2015 and have read books 1-3 in this 8 book series. I love the romance between Claire and Jamie and the history of it all. And just argh. They are just my OTP!
If you haven’t started this TV or the books, what have you been doing with yourself? *Lara!!* For those of you who haven’t caught up with the show just or those who haven’t read Voyager (book 3 in the Outlander series), I would suggest you guys to stop reading this post and check out the other post that was published as there may be spoilers.
*SPOILERS OF SEASON 2 OF OUTLANDER BELOW*
So at the end of Outlander Season 2, we see Claire going back to her time, while pregnant with Brianna, to bring her up with Frank in her normal time and Jamie went back to fight the Battle of Culloden. Jamie fully knowing that Claire is pregnant with his kid. Now my heart just aches thinking of this. Like it must have been so hard for him saying goodbye to the women he loves and his unborn child just to save them from the aftermath of Culloden. Like Jamie is the man of my dreams, forever.
In the past two seasons, this TV has been really accurate to the books. That just made me fall for this TV a lot more because of this fact. But with season 3 following Voyager, it is said that this season will move away from the book. I feel more happy in this happening, because for me, Voyager was more of an iffy book. Like so much happened in the book I think was quite weird. But I feel like the director and the producer of this TV show will hopefully do an amazing job of making it stand out even though it’s not following the book.
There are 4 main things I’m quite excited to see in season 3. I really hope they have flash back screens that can be seen throughout Voyager, of Claire and Jamie’s lives during the 20 years apart. I just can’t wait to see Fergus, I love Fergus so much. And with what happens to Fergus within Voyager, like I need to see that! I think the main things I would love to see is Jamie dealing with the after effects of Culloden and what it does for his character, how Frank feels bringing up someone else’s kid and how he acts towards Claire after knowing she married someone else, and also seeing how Claire’s character deals with thinking that Jamie died in Culloden for 20 years, trying to live with a man she doesn’t love, keep the secret of Brianna’s real father, and how she reacts to finding out he survived and the process of getting ready to go back through the stones.
Thinking back to when I read Voyager, I’m remembered the amount of character development that Jamie, Claire, and Frank went through when comparing them to how they were in season 1 and 2 (Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber). I trust all of the actors, that play Jamie, Claire and Frank will do these characters justice as they age and develop. I can’t wait to see more of Brianna and also Roger. I wonder how they will include them in this new season as some things that happen in Voyager effects both of them. I’m just really excited about this TV show!
