So after thinking of a way to start this new blog off, I thought posting a book tag would be a fun and easy way just to do that! So after looking through all of the book tags, this one appeared and we thought it would be an amazing one to do. We will be doing the Reading Habits book tag! Anyway, let’s start this tag;
1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Amy: The place where I mostly read is on my bed. I have created a little place where I do it. Whenever I get home from doing work, I always find my way back there with a book in my hands. It’s just the perfect place to read of me.
Lara: I have this comfy chair in my room that I can sit and read next to my shelves, it probably is my certain place to read.
2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Amy:Â Bookmark of course. I have such a large bookmark collection (thank you Book Depository) and when I use one I always try to match the bookmark to the book. I love the feel of using bookmarks with a book.
Lara: Definitely bookmark. I have this one bookmark with the quote ‘ I am a daydreamer and a night thinker’ and I use that bookmark for every book.Â
3. Can you stop reading at any time you want or do you have to stop at a certain page, chapter, part, etc?
Amy:Â When I finish the day, I always try to finish it on a chapter. Some days I set challenges, like to reach a certain page or finish a certain part, till the end of the day.Â
Lara: I always try to stop reading after finishing the chapter that I am reading; I can not really stop in the middle of the chapters.
4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
Amy:Â Some time I have a few snacks like chocolate, crisps, and sweets near me when I read. Comfort food when you read is key.Â
Lara: I don’t usually eat while reading because it can stain the pages, besides food is a good distraction and I don’t like distractions while reading.
5. Can you read while listening to music/watching TV?
Amy:Â Yes! I know some people can’t read while listening to music or watching TV. I find that listening to music adds to a certain atmosphere when reading.Â
Lara: I don’t really watch TV, I also do not listen to music while reading because reading in silence makes it easier for me to focus.
6. One book at the time or several at once?
Amy:Â One book at a time. I think if I read more than one book at a time, I’ll probably mix up the stories together and would probably lose interest in one book or maybe even both of the books.
Lara: I must agree with Amy in this one. I’d totally mix up the storylines.
7. Reading at home or everywhere?
Amy:Â Reading everywhere
Lara: Everywhere as well.
8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Amy:Â Some times I read out loud within certain scenes but the rest of the time I just read in my head
Lara: Definitely reading silently in my head.Â
9. So you read ahead or skip pages?
Amy:Â I skip pages sometimes. I feel so bad doing it but honestly when something big happens in the book and if characters lives are at stake I have to do it. Any other time I can resist the urge to do it aha.
Lara: I tend to draw spoilers to myself, therefore I do not skip pages lol.
10. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
Amy:Â Keeping it new! I have a few books with broken spines and it kills me just seeing them. I love the feel of unbroken spines. Especially when all of the books on a row on your bookshelf is none broken and you can just run your fingers along them. Honestly to me, that is the best feeling ever.
Lara: I love breaking spines. Amy hates it when I show her my broken book spines hehe but I just can not help it. Breaking the spines makes the books look like ‘read and used’ and I just love the look of it. (Sorry Amy hehe)
11. Do you write in books?
Amy:Â No, I wouldn’t dare.Â
Lara: Not really, though I highlight the quotes I really really like.
