I’m here with another Meet the Blogger! Today I will be doing a Q&A with Bekka, the owner of Writeable Dreams. So here it is!
Tell us a bit about yourself?
B: I’m a 22-year-old freelance writer, specialising in social media management, blog posts and web page/web content creation. In my spare time, I’m also an aspiring children’s and YA novelist, a lover of McFly, Marvel, and BBC Sherlock. As someone with Aspergers, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia, I’m also passionate about diversity in all forms of media.
How did you get into book blogging?
B: I’ve always been a lover of writing, but only really started blogging in university. I was doing a degree in Creative And Professional Writing, so there was a lot of writers around, and quite a lot of blogs. I figured I’d join in with the fun, and add another string to my writing bow, so to speak!
What is your favourite thing about your blog?
B: I’m not sure, to be honest! I love that it gives me the freedom to express opinions in a more concise way. I tend to ramble in my videos, because I can’t stop myself, physically writing things down forces me to edit down my words. I like that challenge.
Have you been inspired to blog by another blogger and/or Youtuber?
B: I was certainly inspired to start a booktube channel by other booktubers! I love watching Kate at Girl Reading (who also owns a book blog) and Clara at Clara Reads Books, as for blogging, like I said earlier, I was inspired by other university students on my course!
How do you decide what blog posts to do next?
B: Every month I check Top 5 Wednesday on Goodreads, as well as the Booktube 3 in 1, in case they have a topic for the week/month. If I watch a really good TV show or film, I’ll decide to review that. For the rest of the time, the post usually comes to me after reading a really good book, or if I find something I’m really passionate about!
Do you look at other blogs to get inspiration for the content of your blog?
B: I do sometimes, I use other blogs to find tags, but mainly I use them to find new books to read!
Where would you like to see your blog at the end of this year?
B: Still going, hopefully, to start with! Also, I’d like to keep up with my new year’s resolution of blogging more consistently. I’d also like to hit 500 regular readers, and to build more of a community on my blog!
If you could meet one author who would it be?
B: Oh, that’s a hard choice between two authors. If I can choose a dead author, I’d choose Terry Pratchett in a heartbeat. I adore his Discworld novels, as well as his co-authored book Good Omens, I’d love to have asked him just where he got the ideas for all of his characters from. If they have to be alive, V. E. Schwab, definitely! I adore the Shades Of Magic series, as well as Monsters Of Verity series. I haven’t found a book of hers yet that I haven’t loved! They’re effortlessly diverse, and beautifully written, and she doesn’t shy away from bigger topics. I admire her work ethic and her dedication to her craft so much.
What are your 3 top genres to read?
B: Fantasy, children’s and graphic novels. Specifically Marvel comics, but basically I’ll read anything with supernatural elements in it!
What book are you most excited about reading next?
B: I’m currently playing catch up with a load of popular books that I’ve missed over the years, so I’m really looking forward to reading Six Of Crows, the Percy Jackson series, and Illuminae. But as for general authors I’m excited to read, I’m really looking forward to reading Vengeful by V. E. Schwab, Derek Landy’s Skulduggery Pleasant series, and Going Postal by Terry Pratchett! I also really want to reread William Goldman’s Princess Bride soon as well, it’s one of my absolute favourites, and I really want to reread it soon!
What is the most recent favourite book you’ve read?
B: Oh my God what kind of a question is that?! I have so many, I have no idea where to start! I mean, I reread The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett every year at Christmas, along with The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher. I love The Princess Bride like I said in the previous question, but I’m also a massive fan of the Shades Of Magic series, Kell is my book boyfriend and I adore him! I’ve also recently read Nevernight by Jay Kristoff, and thought that was absolutely brilliant!
Do you have any hobbies outside of blogging/reading?
B: Booktubing, writing novels, I love going to the cinema, eating far too much Chinese food for my own good. And hopefully soon, I’d love to get into dancing and martial arts and sword fighting, if not just to feel like I’m some of my favourite characters!
That is the end of my Q&A with Bekka from Writeable Dreams. Thank you to Bekka for participating in this Q&A. It was very fun to do. Also, check out her blog, it looks amazing.

That’s funny about the sword fighting thing. I’ve been thinking about that too because it will help me write better fight scenes.
