I’m here with another Meet the Blogger! Today I will be doing a Q&A with Allison, owner of Girl with a Good Book and her Dog. So here it is!
Tell us a bit about yourself?
A: I am a thirty-something Midwesterner. In my real life, I am a large animal veterinary. I work with horses and cows in the rain and shine. It’s a pretty awesome job. Besides working, my hubby and I have a small ranch where we raise bucking bull cows.
How did you get into book blogging?
A: I kind of fell into it. One of my favorite authors was offering an ARC to review, and I signed up to read and review. I really enjoyed it and started looking for other ways to help authors. I stumbled upon Netgalley. They want professional readers, and bloggers count as professional readers. I decided to give it a try. It has turned into a fun hobby.
What is your favourite thing about your blog?
A: I love the interaction with my readers. They are pretty awesome. I also really enjoy trying new books I would not have read and interacting with authors.
Have you been inspired to blog by another blogger and/or Youtuber?
A: Yes, I love reading other bloggers to get ideas. There are too many to list!
How do you decide what blog posts to do next?
A: I try to plan my posts, but in all reality, it doesn’t always work. I just write what I am feeling at the moment.
Do you look at other blogs to get inspiration for the content of your blog?
A: Yes, I do. I also read them to get ideas on formatting.
Where would you like to see your blog at the end of this year?
A: I would like to get it to have 100 followers and be posting 3 times a week
If you could meet one author who would it be?
A: This is a hard question. It’s hard to pick just one! I think I would like to pick JK Rowling. She seems pretty awesome, and I would love to have a coffee with her.
What are your 3 top genres to read?
A: Fantasy, thrillers/mystery, romance
What book are you most excited about reading next?
A: I have WJ May’s Unceasing just waiting for me on my kindle. I started her The Queen’s Alpha series and I have been hooked.
What is the most recent favourite book you’ve read?
A: The Cupcake Caper by Kelle Z Riley. It’s a cozy mystery and I really enjoyed it!
Do you have any hobbies outside of blogging/reading?
A: I show my dogs at AKC shows. I also try to garden but mostly end up growing weeds!
That is the end of my Q&A with Allision from Girl with a Good Book and her Dog. Thank you to Allison for participating in this Q&A. It was very fun to do. Also, check out Allision’s blog, it is filled with quirks and yes you can see her dog.

Wow- a large animal vet is so cool. My oldest daughter wants to be a vet or a biologist. She loves animals.

Loved this interview, I love animals. I have been wanting a puppy for the longest time. If I could have any animal in the world it would be an Orca but I would keep it in the ocean.

Awesome interview! Funny thing. I always wanted to be a veterinarian, but I’m afraid of most animals. LOL thanks for sharing.
