So it is finally time to come out of my 5 months hiatus. I have been planning on coming back for some time but each time I say “I’ll do it”, it never happens. I think I’ve told myself that for the past 3 months? Since February, I have been feeling like I am out of my hiatus, but something in the back of my mind was holding it’s tight grips on me. But I’m finally back and I’m so happy I am. So here I am, blogging on a new blog, telling you guys where I have been for the past few months.
Why did I go on a hiatus in the first place?
Over the past months, before I decided to go on hiatus, I was in the middle of getting through my course work for my apprenticeship (which dragged so much). When I completed it, I was planning on coming back full time. But when I was in the middle of it, I just couldn’t get back in the flow of blogging.
Midway through December, I decided that I needed a prolonged hiatus. This was so I can get back in the flow of reading, working and enjoying a break from doing coursework and exams. Just sitting down in front of my computer after work, where I sit down in front of a computer for 8 hours, wasn’t the best thing to do. I think that is why I just couldn’t get back into the flow. Just sitting down in front of my laptop made me regret it and just made me think of how many words I need to write.
I am so happy I am finally over this whole dread feeling when I’m in front of the computer as it allows me to connect with you guys through this blog.Ā
So what happened over the past 5 months?
So much has happened to me over the past few months. Obviously, reading and reading. But a lot of work has gone into everything. So here is a recap on what has been happening over the past few months.
I’ve started Bullet Journalling!
I have been thinking about start bullet journalling for a long time and was wanting to start it within this year. So I did just that. After talking with someone at work, we start doing it together as it was really nice. But since February, I stopped for some reason and I miss it. I hope I can start to get back into again soon as it was nice doing some sort of creative thing, aside from during work.
I got my Own Domain!
So I think I have been going on this about a lot lately, I still can’t get over the fact I have my own domain. I have been thinking about this for a lot longer than 5 months and I’m so happy it’s finally happened.
I got this domain/blog for my birthday, which was in late March, and it was honestly just a quick decision. To be honest, I still can’t believe this has happened.
I’m so happy with how this blog has turned out and I hope *fingers crossed* everything goes good AND nothing goes wrong with the website!
Planning to do a Big Reading Challenge!
At the start of this year, I decided to really challenge myself in this years Goodreads Reading Challenge. Normally I give myself goals that I know are realistic, but this year I’m doing it differently. This year I will be challenging myself to read 90 books within 2019.Ā
During the past years where I have been doing this challenge, I have been given myself challenges between 60-80 books during the whole year. Only once did I ever read over 90 books and that was when I was still at college.Ā
So far I have read 30 books within just over 4 months. At the moment it is saying I am on track with my challenge. Let’s see if I can do it!
Never Too Early for a Reading Slump
So even though I set myself for a reading challenge that is the most challenging ever! I managed to get myself in a reading slump 2 months into 2019 and it was a BAD ONE.Ā
Somehow I managed to get into a bad reading slump that lasted until April? or maybe late March. It was a reading slump that just left me feeling like I just couldn’t be bothered to read. But when I got my new Kindle, it literally saved my reading life.
Since I got my new Kindle, I have been flying through Kindle books like there was no tomorrow. Fairly recently I have been managing to pick up physical books (paperbacks and hardcovers) so I could give my Kindle a little rest.
So far I have been reading physical books at my normal rate and still flying through Kindle books. I am so excited to see whether or not a reading slump is going to creep back onto me and my Kindle won’t be able to save me from it…
So that is what has kinda happened in the past 5 months since I disappeared on you guys. Obviously, I have missed out on the books I have gotten but honestly I think my buying habits of late have calmed down since last year. Which I am super happy about and my bank balance as well. I might do a 6-month book haul post, but I think I’ll decide before May ends.
till next time readers

welcome back! I feel like a lot of blogging is the day-to-day flow, so I can definitely see why it could be hard to get back into it – but I’m glad you did š
bullet journaling is a double-destressor for me, since a) it’s creative (though mine is much less colorful than yours, haha), and b) it helps me keep track of everything I have going on! the online bujo community is awesome too; I love youtube, insta, tumblr, and pinterest for inspiration.
yay for being on track to finish your challenge and for beating the slump! here’s hoping it stays away š¤

Yea it is. It’s definitely made me realise how the whole hiatus isn’t a bad thing. It’s definitely something you should do one in a while.
